On 29 December 2021, we went top visit the family of the two children who were bitten by their neighbour’s german shepherd. We wrote about them a while ago (rumour had spread that they were bitten by stray dogs and this had stirred up anti stray dog sentiment in the community). The first child we visited, Mu’taz Khamis Al Jorudi, is 10 years old. We brought him gifts and were welcomed by his kind family. The bite had resulted in a fear of dogs, but by talking to him and telling him about different dogs, the fear lessened significantly. We gave him a bag of dog food which he will use to feed the stray dogs around his house. We are very thankful towards Mu’taz and his kind family!

The second boy is called Ayham Salem Naji. He is five years old, and unfortunately the event has affected him greatly. He became introverted and does not want to go to school anymore. We will help him get psychological counselling to overcome his fear. We also thank this boy’s parents for the kind reception!
